About Hokm:
Hokm, which translates to "command" in Persian, is a beloved team-based card game where four players split into two partnerships. The goal is to work with your teammate to win the majority of tricks each hand, using strategy, prediction, and a bit of luck.
How to Play:
Objective: Win at least seven tricks in a hand. The first team to secure seven hands wins the game.
Teams: Players are paired with the person sitting across from them—communication and cooperation are key!
Dealing: Cards are dealt one by one. The first player dealt an Ace becomes the Hakem (dealer) for that round.
Trump Suit: After the first five cards are dealt, the Hakem chooses the trump suit (Hokm), which outranks all other suits.
Gameplay: Follow the leading suit if possible. The highest card of that suit wins the trick, unless a trump is played—then the highest trump takes it.
Scoring: The team with seven or more tricks wins the hand. Special scoring applies for shutouts (Kot).
