J-TALK: Your Reliable Interpreter Companion in Japan
J-TALK is an easy-to-use communication tool designed for travelers and business visitors in Japan. It enables smooth interaction with locals through features like a shared whiteboard and camera function, making everyday situations—such as asking for directions or ordering food—much simpler.
The app supports both voice and video calls, including a low-quality option for slower networks. You can also switch between front and back cameras to show documents, notices, or menus to the interpreter in real time.
Ideal for situations like lost luggage, feeling unwell, shopping, or making local friends, J-TALK helps cut costs on traditional translation services. However, it is not suitable for formal business meetings, medical consultations, or legal proceedings.
J-TALK provides live interpretation between Japanese and English, Chinese, or Korean. The service is available every day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Japan Standard Time (JST).
For optimal performance, use a device with Android 4.4 or higher, a quad-core CPU, and an HD display. A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi, 4G/LTE, or 3G) with at least 1Mbps speed is required. If your network is slower, use voice-only mode for better connectivity.
