KX3Mate: Beta Controller for Elecraft KX3 Transceiver
KX3Mate is a beta Android application designed to control the Elecraft KX3, an amateur radio transceiver. To use the app, connect the KX3 transceiver to an Android device (supporting USB OTG) via the included KXUSB cable and an OTG USB adapter, then launch KX3Mate.
Key Features:
- Real-time display of VFO and mode information from the KX3.

Message and Macro Transmission:
- Send custom messages using macros for callsign, RST, and user info.
- Save and transmit up to 8 memory messages per mode across 4 banks (32 total).
- Transmit built-in KX3 messages (MSG1 to MSG6) and KX3 macros (32 across 4 banks).
Operational Controls:
- Keyer: Preset keyer speeds (3 types) and adjust frequency in 1 WPM steps.
- Filter: Preset five filter bands for quick recall.
- Transmit Power: Preset five power levels.
- VFO: Switch between VFO A/B and adjust frequency.
- Memory Channel: Recall KX3 quick memory and memory channels.
- Mode/Band: Recall modes/bands with customizable button mapping.
Contest and Logging:
- Contest mode with RST+001 or fixed numbering, outputs Cabrillo-format logs.
- QSO Log: Save callsign, RST, mode, frequency, and operator details to storage.
- Text, ADIF, and Cabrillo logs are saved in /Download/KX3Mate/.
- Automatic decode log saves decoded text daily.
Data Management:
- Export/load macro/memory data and user data to/from storage.
Settings:
- Customize send time display, text decode interval, button visibility, and more.
Limitations:
- The app may crash when plugging/unplugging USB cables, switching screens, or closing.
Permissions Required:
- Modify/delete USB storage contents.
- Read USB storage.
