RS-MS3A: D-STAR Transceiver Internet Connectivity App for Android
The RS-MS3A is an Android application developed to enhance the functionality of compatible D-STAR transceivers by enabling communication over the Internet. It supports two primary modes: Terminal mode and Access Point mode. This allows users to extend their D-STAR operations beyond the range of traditional repeaters by utilizing Internet, LTE, or 5G networks through an Android device.
Key Features:
1. Terminal Mode: Operate your D-STAR transceiver via the Android app to communicate with other D-STAR users over the Internet. In this mode, the transceiver does not emit RF signals even when the PTT (Push-To-Talk) is engaged, as audio is transmitted through data networks.
2. Access Point Mode: Use the D-STAR transceiver as a Wireless LAN access point. The transceiver repeats signals received from the Android device to other D-STAR transceivers, facilitating extended network coverage.
Device Requirements:
- Android 8.0 or later
- Touch screen Android device
- Bluetooth and/or USB On-The-Go (OTG) host functionality
